Two weeks until we leave & "Dressy Casual"

Two weeks from yesterday we leave for our adventure!! So So SO excited!!!!! The wedding rings should be here by Tuesday, we'll make a stop at the county office to grab the marriage license, pack our passports, and then we'll be ready to fly off into the sunset together ❤️✈️☀️ We are so excited to celebrate with all of you when we get home, and for those of you who have asked, the party is a "dressy casual" type affair! We want you to he happy and comfortable to eat, drink, and dance with us!

July 30th - 6pm - Are You Coming?!

So maybe you're expecting the fancy invitation with the little RSVP envelope in order to let us know if you're coming or not. Sadly (actually we aren't sad, we just aren't fancy!) that's not happening! So call, email, stop by, send a carrier pigeon, Facebook, smoke signal, or telegram and let us know if you're going to be able to join us! No need to pick chicken or fish, we are doing family style (and there will be a vegetarian option!) We leave for the WeddingMoon July 10th, so please let us know if you are going to join in on the celebrations before we leave (or let us know if you're one of "those people" who need a last minute deadline!). We hope you'll be there!! ❤️

Happy February! We've been getting a few people asking by when we need to receive your RSVP. There is some wiggle room with this, especially because we know at this point that it's still pretty far away. However, if you could plan to let us know if you're coming :) or not :( by June 1st, that would be great! (So be warned, if we haven't heard from you at that point, we're probably going to start to pester you!) Also, we made a decision and have reservations at the Homewood Suites in Downtown Denver. Again, there are LOTS of places to stay, depending on what your plans are, but this is where the cool kids will be :) Lastly, just so you know, Dave and I plan to be around all day on July 31st (the day after the wedding party) to hopefully see you and spend some time with you if you're around. So please let us know if you want to make any special plans with us (although, be advised, Polly will NOT be getting up early). We can't wait to see you!!!

More about the Wedding Celebration - Places to Stay

We're so excited that you're coming to celebrate with us! The Wedding Celebration on July 30th at 6:00pm will be at Maggiano's Restaurant located on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. There are so many different hotels to stay at in the Denver area, but we wanted you to be able to have the location of the party so you can start planning your trip. You could choose to stay at any of the downtown hotels that are nearby. Some of the closest hotels to Maggianos (you might want to check a map to see the locations of these) are the Hilton Garden Inn, the Crowne Plaza, the Sheraton, the Grand Hayatt, and the Embassy Suites. Dave and I will most likely be staying in one of these downtown hotels (we can let you know as soon as we pick if you want to stay with the cool kids :) - but we haven't gotten that far yet!) Additionally, there are many hotels very close to the Denver airport, although then you would have to arrange transportation to/from the airport area to the downtown area (depending on traffic 20-30 minutes). We also don't know if you're planning to do other things in the Denver/Colorado area before/after our wedding party, so please feel free to look around and stay wherever works best for you!!

The WeddingMoon Itinerary

Alrighty folks... Here's the run down for our adventure on the way to becoming husband and wife! July 10 - we fly from Denver to Lima, Peru. July 11 - we get in to Lima super early and have the rest of the day to either zonk out in the hotel or explore Lima... Hopefully a bit of both! July 12 and 13 - we fly from Lima to Cuzco and then have a few days before we hit the Trail. July 14-17 - Inca Trail!! We hike for 3 days, and then on the 4th day we reach Machu Picchu! July 18 - after our first day in Machu Picchu (and a loooong shower and non-trail food in Aguas Calientes) we will head back for day 2 in Machu Picchu and will hopefully be climbing Huayna Picchu. Then we take the train back to Cuzco. We are guessing somewhere on the trail, or at Machu Picchu, we will actually get married. Don't worry, we'll take lots of pictures to share at the Wedding Celebration! July 19 - we fly from Cuzco to Lima and then Lima to Quito, Ecuador. July 20-23 we fly from Quito to the Galápagos and spend 4 days on a cruise around the islands. We plan to hike, snorkel, kayak, and pet the tortoisises! July 24 - fly home! July 30 - Wedding Celebration in Denver, CO - celebrate our marriage with family and friends (You!!)

Invitations are going out!

Hopefully you're reading this because you just got an invitation to join us for our Wedding Celebration this summer! As I'm typing this I am about to hand out the first batch of invites, and put a few more in the mail. It will probably take a little while to collect all the addresses we need, so I'm sorry if yours isn't there tomorrow :) We are finalizing the plans for the Wedding Celebration party, so please check back again for more specific details!

Inca Trail Permits Finalized!!

We finally received notification that our permits for the Inca Trail have been confirmed. That was the last piece of the puzzle for getting this adventure booked!! I will post our full itinerary soon! Woo hoo!!!

The Year of the WeddingMoon

2015 is the year we will travel on our WeddingMoon and then celebrate with all our family and friends! Invitations will be going out soon, so we have created this blog as a place you can come to follow our WeddingMoon plans, find details about the Wedding Celebration Party as we get closer to July 30th, and find our registry.
